The training landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is at the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school model isn't the only efficient means of studying. Their NCV programmes are created for students who would like to their journey towards a satisfying career early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their range of courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are presented at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-year length.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Requirements

These programs get started at NCV level two plus the minimum amount requirement would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Mathematics.

After the student finishes NCVLevel two, they might then have attained a grade ten certification. NCV Level three read more would be grade eleven and NCV Level four is grade twelve.

NCV Level four is at the exit level, being equivalent to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade nine is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV stage two and that is equivalent to an NQF level two.

On which sort of students are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that standard schooling will not be automatically the one strategy for becoming an artisan or becoming qualified therefore if a student knows from an early age what their passions are, the NCV programme is in fact properly suited for that student.
